Scraps costume I made when I played the role in Jane Martin’s ‘Talking With’. The character is based on the Patchwork Girl in Wizard of Oz.
Scraps is a housewife obsessed with the Wizard of Oz, and she dresses up in the Scraps costume when she does the vacuuming. It was a bizarre role to play. I read every single one of the Oz books to research and prepare my character. The show I was in was produced at Open Space in Victoria, B.C. in 1993 and directed by Gabrielle Levine.
I enjoy creating and portraying chracters. I need to do more of that.
