Stereotypes and the Certain Way

More of what I wrote today on Rebecca Fine’s forum:

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Your website is great for a first effort! Congratulations! You have created what you set out to do. Excellent.

When I saw your reply to Proud Mary, I went back to visit again, and looked further and saw the link to SOGR. When I saw that link, and the way you presented it, I realized you were quite sincere - although perhaps a little off course. :-)

I have to read your reply again and look at your website again and think about it a bit more.

But for now, I will say that my take on SOGR is that by focusing on stereotypes - even though your goal is inter-cultural communication, you are missing one of Wattles fundamental teachings, and that’s why I wondered if perhaps you had not really understood the English.

By focusing on stereo-types you are giving attention to the negative. Unless of course you perceive stereotyping to be a positive thing - yet you say in your response to my post that you think we need to get past the stereotypes.

When one agrees to overcome his stereotypes, it is that one agrees to open his mind, to go towards the others and to share. Sharing, it is what made Rebecca who gave us this book, it is what each one made on this forum. To overcome the stereotypes, it is the first step to be rich even if one wishes to make trade only with his cousin, his brother or his next-door neighbor …. .

So it’s clear you want to do good. I’m just not sure that putting the stereotypes upfront is in keeping with The Certain Way.

May I suggest that for now, you leave your website as it is, don’t give it too much attention, and do the Course for Practical Geniuses. While doing the Course, your website’s PURPOSE will become clearer and after completing the Course for PG, you can revise it so it will do what you want it to do! Smile

And your English is not so bad, but I suggested the BBC learning English website because it’s free and it’s very good! I am an English teacher, among many other things, I often refer people who are internet savvy (as you are) and who want to learn English to that website.

I look forward to reading more of your posts as you grow in the Certain Way and welcome to the forum!

BRAVO!
