PostCard from Paris

Notre Dame Cathedral (the back)
I stopped in Paris for two days and one night on my way to Barcelona. It really is a beautiful city. I think it’s the footpaths along the river and canals that make it so special. You can walk along the river and not hear the traffic above, and when you climb the stairs back onto the streets, you suddenly realise you were surrounded by traffic all along but due to the clever design, the traffic noises are imperceptible when walking along the banks of the waterways.

View from the ferris wheel at the Bastille…
I was in Paris the same weekend as a holiday celebrating ‘patrimony’ (?) (I need to find out about that!) and there was a Techno Music Parade (ala Berlin’s Love Parade but with Paris teenyboppers rather than the more all ages crowd you get in Berlin!). The parade started at the Bastille then wove its way through the streets. A major food company was there that day, giving away samples of a yummy chocolate pudding as well as free rides on the ferris wheel. I snapped a few pics while I was up there.
