I had a very interesting experience with LL22* today…
I was certainly fired up with my CMI when I approached LL22, and after reading the the LL over , I went back to my CMI, then just seemingly flowed into working on learning a song I had started learning yesterday…

Now this is the part that is so curious…

First, I don’t normally sing covers, but this is a song by an artist I was recently ‘led’ to listen to very closely, and this song is the one I chose to learn (someone had suggested a different song by the same artist, and after looking at the lyrics I couldn’t bring myself to learn them!)

Well, after spending the entire day listening to about 30 different versions of the same song by various artists, including about 5 different recordings of the same artist performing it, I started to question whether or not they were lyrics I wanted to sing, and also to doubt my ability to sing the song successfully!

So I went back to my CMI and worked on a different aspect of the CMI** - and got seemingly no where - then I went back to the LL instructions and realized that learning the song was a totally inspired action, because I had ‘naturally’ flowed to that activity after initially reading the LL. And I said to myself, “Wow, I HAVE to learn that song. I HAVE to sing that song.”

Then I did the dishes and made a salad and while I was doing that I realized that I’m afraid to sing the song because it carries so much meaning for me, and I am also afraid of not being as good as the ‘master’, and then I thought about all the various covers I had listened to today and how most of them were all trying to copy the ‘master’, and the ones who had made an impact with their version had sung it their way….and that gave me permission to approach it ‘my way’…
