Freud in a digital world…

Thursday 22nd December 2005 - 5:47:35 PM

Not sure if this means I have been spending way too much time at home alone with my computer, or if looking at Tamas Waliczky’s animations sparked something, but I stumbled on NYC’s 1-20 gallery’s website today and while cruising the artists, Kiki Seror caught my eye with her eye…but it was this image that stopped me in my tracks and made me look a little closer…then I found this Freudian game and well…now I’m telling you about it. Wonder what Freud would make of all that?

Back to Tamas’s animations sparking something: he has got me thinking about installation and animation ideas that first occurred to me so long ago they feel like a mere shadow…yet I see with today’s technology these ideas are now possible, and well…the ideas are creeping out of the shadows into the realm of possibility.

…it’s all about possibilities isn’t it?

Life, I mean - and what we do with it.

I mean, anything is possible, isn’t it.

It’s how we see things that makes the difference between possible and impossible.

I mean, the other day I decided to visualise seeing a certain thing when I went out. I didn’t see an exact replica of what I had in mind, rather I saw FIFTEEN similar things, and they were similar enough for me to recognise them as what I had originally visioned.

So, that proves it = (not that I needed any more proof) =

Life is what you choose to see and focus on.

The trick is in training your mind to see and focus on the right things.
This image from Kiki is a good start in that exercise.
