Digital Art Manifests Alternate Dimension
The Making New Waves Festival continued yesterday with workshops during the day and performances in the evening.
I participated in Swiss artist, Jasch’s Eye and Ear workshop where I teamed with a young musician/composer from Pecs and was introduced to working with the Max/MSP/Jitter software I mention in my preceeding post. We are working on a project that will be presented on Sunday evening - manipulating a short segment of live video footage and a couple of my art works. I am pleased with the results so far, though I was totally blown away by Josch’s improvised codespace performance last evening. (More about that and the Alternate Dimension later.)
I peeked in on Eric Singer’s LEMUR guitar bot workshop, which the two musicians I am working with on Hope are doing. Tonight I will see a performance of this robotic instrument.
I also saw San Francisco-based artist Pamela Z’s voci last everning which was a technical display around a discussion of the voice. Today I will continue with Josch’s workshop and start a voice workshop with Ms. Z and hopefully come up with a brief performance combining the two. We’ll see what happens.
