I say: “Don’t judge this book by its name.”

I’ve been on a path to change my habitual way of thinking for almost 20 years. Along the way, I’ve used many self-help books. But for now, I just want to introduce you to the latest book on my path.

It’s particularily special because it’s given away for free by a woman you’ll meet when you get to her website.

I was introduced to the book by a woman I met when I lived in Traverse City, Michigan. Deb Martin was one of my instructors in a state-funded program called INVEST, that taught entrepreneurs the essentials for starting a business. When I left Michigan, Deb - who was a professional coach - asked if I would be her guinea pig for an email coaching experiment. I agreed and she coached me all the way to Hungary! Then in 2002 she sent me a link for this book, and I finally got ‘it’.

The book teaches you how to ‘get rich’ by saying thank you for every little thing in your life, and making sure everyone who crosses your path gets more than their money’s worth. (Well, there’s more to it than that, but that’s a good beginning.)

These are strange ideas in our corporate greedy world where a corporation has to constantly increase profits - at whatever cost - to be successful.

But perhaps more important, the book teaches how to open your mind to possibilities, and teaches how we shape the world we live in with our thoughts.

Now lots of people say: “Oh yeah, I’ve read all about positive thinking.”
But I’m not talking positive thinking.
Then they say: “Visualisation? Oh yeah, I’ve done that.”
But nor is it visualizing.
It is a package deal: you get what you think.
Or put differently: you get what you focus on.
Focus on problems, you’ll have problems. Focus on solutions, you’ll have solutions.
Focus on poverty and greed, you’ll be surrounded by poverty and greed.
